3. What Personal Information Do We Collect?

Data Controller vs. Processor:
Homegevity acts as a Data Processor and Service Provider for the Contractor. The Contractor remains the Data Controller for all client information, including Photo Data, uploaded to the Site. We only process this data to provide the requested Assessment Outputs to the Contractor.

Personal Information You Provide:
When using the Site, filling out forms, submitting assessments, making purchases, or contacting us, you may provide your name, email address, zip code, and payment information. We use this information to deliver services, respond to requests, improve the platform, and communicate with you about your purchase and relevant resources. Contractors should submit only the minimum information necessary to complete an assessment.

Assessment Submission Data:
When submitting a home assessment, contractors and handymen provide photos of the home being assessed along with structured form responses. This may include zip code and limited functional and accessibility-related information about the senior resident as described in Section 5 of our Disclaimer. Contractors are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from homeowners and residents before submitting photos or any information about them through this platform.

Contractors should avoid including full street addresses in submissions when zip code or state is sufficient for the purposes of the assessment. Contractors should also avoid uploading photos containing unnecessary identifying materials when possible.

Prohibited Information: Contractors are strictly prohibited from submitting medical diagnoses, medication details, medical record numbers, insurance member IDs, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or any other protected health information or sensitive identifying health data through the assessment tool. If we become aware that such information has been inadvertently uploaded, we reserve the right to delete it immediately.

Photo Data Storage:
Photos submitted through the assessment tool are processed through our automation pipeline and stored in secured cloud storage for the following purposes:

  • Generating and documenting assessment outputs.
  • Quality assurance, platform improvement, and the development and training of our proprietary aging-in-place AI models.
  • Research to improve the accuracy of environmental safety assessments.

We utilize de-identified Photo Data to enhance our technology’s ability to recognize safety hazards. Contractors remain responsible for ensuring that submitted photos do not contain PHI as defined in our Prohibited Information section.

Photos are stored with access strictly limited to authorized personnel conducting professional reviews. As a “Human-in-the-Loop” service, submitted images are analyzed by our professional team—informed by nursing and aging-in-place expertise—to ensure the quality and accuracy of the Assessment Output.

Data Retention: We retain Assessment Submission Data and Photo Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. Upon written request, Photo Data will be permanently deleted from our systems, barring any legal obligation to retain it. To request deletion, contact us at help@homegevity.pro with your submission details and specific request.

Personal Information Automatically Collected:
Through use of the Site, we may use data collection tools such as Google Analytics to collect information about your geographic location, device type, IP address, and Site behavior. We collect this information for statistical purposes and to improve the user experience.

4. Account Creation

Homegevity may offer contractor and handyman accounts in the future to provide access to the platform and manage submissions. If and when accounts are offered, you will be solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. 13. Use of Artificial Intelligence

Homegevity uses artificial intelligence technology as a core component of its assessment and proposal generation tools. We are committed to transparency about this use.

Data Privacy in AI: We utilize API connections for our AI processing and commit to partnering only with AI service providers whose commercial agreements prohibit the use of Assessment Submission Data and Photo Data to train their public foundational models. We review our AI provider agreements periodically to ensure continued compliance with this commitment. If our AI provider changes or their terms materially change in a way that affects data handling, we will update this policy and notify active users.

Internal Model Training: Homegevity reserves the right to use de-identified and aggregated Photo Data and Assessment Submission Data to train and refine our internal, proprietary AI systems. This allows us to provide more accurate recommendations and stay current with aging-in-place best practices. We do not sell or trade this data to third parties for their own training purposes.

AI is used on this platform to:

  • Analyze photos and form responses in conjunction with human professional review.
  • Generate modification recommendations based on aging-in-place best practices and clinical oversight.
  • Produce proposal content for contractor review and client presentation.
  • Support platform improvement through aggregated data analysis.

AI-generated outputs on this platform:

  • Are reviewed by a professional to ensure quality and clinical relevance.
  • Depend on the quality and completeness of the photos and information submitted.
  • Are intended as a professionally informed starting point and do not constitute a nursing assessment, occupational therapy evaluation, code inspection, or ADA compliance determination.
  • Do not replace the independent judgment of the qualified contractor performing the on-site work.

Homegevity maintains oversight of all AI tools used on this platform and monitors them to ensure responsible and accurate use. If you have questions about how AI is used, please contact us at help@homegevity.pro.
